Well met, on this midsummer

                                                     night of golden glow

where orange orbs grace

skies of indigo.

A three-part harmony 

of mind, heart, soul;

a fruitful blend,

an intertwining whole.

We search in the undergrowth seeking to find

The runaway; catching glimpses of its soft

 

Bewitchment as it disappears into another hole.

Rather let us gaze in wonder, knowing that what we seek

Is always here.

Here, in your dreams, we'll sing

to summer nights, the moon ablaze in lakes,

the sky a dome of diamonds.

We'll laugh, too, at broken vows, at

hopes long dashed, and assignations 

missed when trust was high.

And when we're done, and turn to go

there's no farewell. You'll pay the bill

made out for one. 

So dream no more, hold out your hand.

We've found our place at water's edge

where love is real.

Sunrays filter through the gates like

Ideas spilling from the mind.

Form patterns on the fertile ground

Where rain will bring new season's growth.

The travelers rushing through this place

See fragments of a larger life,

Glimpse merely shards of dreams and hopes, 

Pass by and miss what lies within.
