Stuck in the detritus that life sometimes

hands to us, we may be forgiven for

missing the richness of the mire

until we look up from our troubles

and find the miracle of light through

the tinted lenses of our joy-filled

imagination, reminding us that

life is as we see it.

Ladies in Red

They glide through sylvan woods.

A forest fire of phantoms,

flaming arms stretched in fifth,

an Arabesque of swirling magic

caught in the fleeting instant before

the dawn awakes the bear, the deer,

the multitude of life. which never sees

the vision of the dance that passes

through this place of secret thoughts.
